Dance Equipment / Sprung Floors

The sprung floor,
made to the room.

Sprung Floor by TSA is a semi-portable modular sprung floor, FIBA-tested for force reduction and made in our Preston workshop. It takes the shock out of every jump and landing - protecting feet, ankles, shins, knees and hips through years of class - and it goes down without a tradesman. We have supplied it to studios and stages Australia wide for more than twenty years.

Made by us

Engineered for the joints that depend on it.

Structural plywood panels sit on a matrix of EPDM rubber shock pads. The result is FIBA-tested and accredited for force reduction and vertical deformation - the same standard set for sport, applied to the dancer.

Designed through our long association with the Australian Ballet and refined over twenty years on studio and stage, every floor is made to the room. We measure, manufacture and back it with a 10-year componentry warranty.

The range

Four floors,
one sprung base.

Start with the sprung base and choose the surface for how the room is used. Every tier builds on the same FIBA-tested foundation.

Solo

The foundation

FIBA-rated force reduction at the entry price. Lay it yourself, coat it yourself, and pull it apart to relocate whenever you need to. The building block every other floor starts from. For ballet and general dance studios.

Pointe

Grip and confidence

All the force reduction of Solo, topped with Tarkett dancefloor for grip underfoot. Built for leaps, pointe work and soft-shoe disciplines. In black, grey, and - exclusive to Show Works - woodgrain.

Classic

The all-rounder

iQ Granit Acoustic over the sprung base gives a self-healing surface that suits classical ballet and tap alike. Grey and black stocked in Australia; other colours to order. The most comfortable surface we make.

Performance

Stage-ready

For stages, auditoria and drama studios. Weathertex impact board over the sprung base gives a paintable, screw-into surface - the standard across Australian commercial theatre.

Questions

Good to know.

Will a sprung floor protect my dancers?

Yes. Sprung Floor by TSA is FIBA-tested and accredited for force reduction and vertical deformation. The EPDM rubber pad matrix absorbs the shock of every jump and landing, protecting feet, ankles, shins, knees and hips through years of class.

Can we install it ourselves?

Yes. It is a semi-portable modular system supplied with a complete install pack - custom joining clips, wave board, side ramps, screws and a moisture membrane - so it goes down without a tradesman, from a home studio to a full commercial fit-out.

What finish should we choose?

The floor is supplied un-sanded, so you choose the finish to suit the room and the budget - paint, clear seal, or a Tarkett vinyl top. The Solo, Pointe, Classic and Performance tiers each pair the sprung base with a different surface; tell us how the room is used and we will point you to the right one.

Can we move it if we relocate the studio?

Yes. The modular panels pull apart and re-lay, so the floor comes with you rather than staying behind.

Is the floor guaranteed?

Every Sprung Floor by TSA carries a 10-year componentry warranty. Full details are available on request.

Fitting out a studio or a stage?
